“Tradition.” It’s more than a word. Tradition has been a part of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Show since 1940. For five days in March, everything outdoors will be celebrated indoors. As always, there will be something for every outdoor sports enthusiast, from those who love fishing, hunting, and camping to those who get outdoors to enjoy kayaking, boating, and hiking.

The 80th year of the Journal Sentinel Sports Show will include fresh features for families as well as intriguing new seminars that outdoor enthusiasts are sure to enjoy. Attendees will also have plenty of opportunities to meet and take pictures with some of their favorite Packer players and featured seminar speakers.

Family Features

For parents looking for opportunities to entertain their kids this weekend and help them get their first taste of the Wisconsin outdoor experience, the Journal Sentinel Sports Show has got you covered with a 3D Tournament Archery Series, Adventure Rock, Trout Pond, and many more.. Admission for kids ages 12 and under is always free – and this year OHEC’s Touch of the Wild will be on site each day this year with sensory safaris for people of all ages, where visitors can touch real wildlife including a brown bear and many more species. The Timberworks Lumberjack Team brings entertainment with log rolling, axe throwing, and live chainsaw competitions. The Chevy Main Stage will feature the annual Fastest Retriever Competition where family dogs of all kinds race against the clock to earn cash prizes. As always, kids will get to compete in the Daniel Boone Air Rifle Competition, and test their rock climbing, fishing, paintball and archery skills – all of which are sure to make lots of memories and burn off some energy in the meantime.

Seminar Stage
The seminar stage will feature a variety of seminars from outdoor experts, including local guide Mike Norris. Muskie seminars return with Fishing Hall of Fame Angler, Bob Mehsikomer and learn about how to get closet to big bucks with Bob Mercer, Deer Behavior Specialist. Meet and Greets
The Sports Show is also proud to announce Green Bay Packers alumni will be making appearances and signing autographs. Former Wide Receiver Jared Abbrederis will be at the Mercury Marine Booth on Thursday, March 5 from 4 – 6 p.m. Former Cornerback Jarrett Bush will be at the Chevy Booth on Friday, March 6 from 4 – 6 p.m.

West Town Archery Tournament Series
This is a tournament series for all archers of all skill levels.  These three shoots will be on the show floor at the 2020 Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel Sports Show at the Wisconsin State Fair Exposition Center.  All participants must pre-register for these exciting youth, adult, bowhunter and target shooting events.  All participants will receive show admission with their paid registration!  To register and get information on all the shoots click here.
