Capt. Scott Allen has more than 40 years of experience fishing Green Bay as a tournament walleye angler and guide. He owns Allen’s Guide Service and Green Bay Ice Fishing. He broke the Anglers Insight Marketing (AIM)record in 2011 when he caught, recorded and released a 32.5-inch walleye. In 2012, he represented the winning Team USA against Team Canada in the AIM Can-Am Tournament. Allen is a three time Fox River Classic winner who has qualified for Cabela’s World Walleye Championship five times with two top ten finishes. Most recently, he and his partner, Joe Manns, captured Team of the Year honors in 2019 and 2020.
Starla Batzko of Starla’s Seasonings, Dips & Mixes, is a hunter and cook who uses her own line of seasonings to prepare domestic and wild game. Her culinary skills were honed while she taught nutrition classes for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. She now offers cooking tips to live audiences at sport, fishing, garden and RV and camping shows. She is a regular at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Show with her seminar, “Cooking Gone Wild.”
Chad Burns has been a professional walleye angler since 1999, competing in tournaments all over the Midwest. He also owns Burnsies’ Guide Service, offering trips on the Winnebago and Green Bay systems. From 1999-2005, he fished the Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) as a pro. From 2006-2014, he fished the Masters Walleye Circuit and the Midwest Walleye Series. Since 2016, Burns has fished the AIM Wisconsin Series, Battle on Bago and Battle on The Bay as well as three NWT tournaments as a pro.
Jerry Costabile is a competitive Pro Series trout and salmon tournament angler on the western shores of Lake Michigan. He and his team are consistent top-5 finishers, with several first-place wins. Costabile was named Kenosha Sportfishing’s “Angler Of the Year” in 2016, 2017, 2018 and is a five-time Kenosha Sportfishing’s “Big Fish” award recipient. He is the founder and instructor of the trout and salmon school, Top to Bottom. He also is a past IGFA world record-holder in the 4-pound test line class with a 15-pound, 12-ounce walleye caught in the Wisconsin River.
William Heim of Night Prowler Guide Service is an experienced multi-species fishing guide, specializing in Lake Geneva and Lake Delavan, Wisconsin. The business was founded in 1992 to offer fishing at night during the summer for large- and smallmouth bass. It still offers night fishing, using black lights and fluorescent line that make it easier for anglers to see in the dark. Night Prowler now offers day or night fishing year-round for a variety of species.
Steve Heiting of Minocqua, Wisconsin, has caught big muskies from Ontario to Kentucky. He has worked as managing editor of Musky Hunter magazine for more than 27 years and has written countless magazine articles and given hundreds of seminars. Heiting has written, contributed to or edited 27 books about musky fishing and produces weekly radio fishing reports. Heiting guides in northern Wisconsin. He is among the 2022 inductees to the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame.
Dale Helegeson owns The Outdoor Experience LLC Guide Service, a full-service fishing-guide business on Lake Geneva, Delavan Lake and any lake in southeast Wisconsin. He is a member of the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) and is president of the Lake Geneva Chapter of Walleyes for Tomorrow, an organization established with the goal of increasing the population of walleye in waters where habitat projects are undertaken. Helegeson fished in professional walleye tournaments for five years, resulting in two national qualifiers. He had seven top-15 finishes, including two in 2021 in the Head 2 Head PWS tournament.
Jim Hensley joined the Chivic African Safaris team to provide a contact within the United States. Hensley has traveled to Africa many times and has deep knowledge of the travel requirements as well as all the wonderful things Africa has to offer. He is always eager to answer questions, help with planning a trip, or simply to just talk about Africa. He lives in Mequon, Wisconsin and works as a detective in the Homicide Unit of the Milwaukee Police Department.
Epic Guide Service owner Jake Kaprelian has a lifetime of hunting and fishing knowledge to call on as a professional guide. He grew up in southeastern Wisconsin and enjoys the thrill of guiding people on the best hunting and fishing experiences of their lives. Services offered by Epic Guide Service include muskie and walleye fishing on Green Bay and surrounding areas in spring and summer; trout fishing charters in winter on Lake Michigan near Milwaukee and guided waterfowl trips in spring and summer.
Bill Kutka grew up in Chicago, where he started fishing as a kid. He is an accomplished walleye-tournament angler who has qualified for championships and was named Sportsman of the Year in the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail. He is a pro member of the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) and The Walleye Federation. He operates the Bill Kutka Angling & Guide Service in Hayward, Wisconsin, where he started fishing in the early 1980s.
Rob Manthei is a full-time guide who owns and operates St. Germain Lodge and Rentals in St. Germain, Wisconsin. He brings a lifetime of experience to his work, having started fishing at the age of 2 and hunting at age 12. He has fished competitively in the Masters Walleye Circuit. He has fished the waters of Vilas, Oneida and Iron counties in Wisconsin all his life. Personally, Manthiel particularly enjoys fishing for muskies, walleye and pike and guides trips for walleye and muskies throughout northern Wisconsin. He is a strong believer in catch-and-release practices.
Bob Mehsikomer is a promoter, educator, author, radio and TV personality as well as a hall of fame angler. He is the owner of A-Team Tackle and senior managing director at Team Fishing Circuit and host of Simply Fishing TV, 5@5 Live and FishStixTV.com. In 1981, he founded what was to become the World Professional Muskie Association. In 2009, Mehsikomer was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall Of Fame, where he is a 13-time world record-holder with releases in muskie, northern pike, and lake trout. From January to April each year, he gives seminars at sports shows, fishing club functions, fundraisers and special retail stores events.
Jeff Melsop is a professional bass angler who started his career fishing in the TBF Ohio Bass Federation; he qualified for multiple state teams and two national championships. He then moved on to fish the FLW Phoenix Bass Fishing League. He currently has nine top-10 finishes and multiple regional appearances. For the past last three seasons, Melsop has fished the FLW Northern Toyota Series, ranked 18th, 13th and 16th, respectively, and making the championship in each of those years.
Ken Moody has hunted in Africa for nearly three decades. He opened Ken Moody Safaris in the early 1990s in southern Africa. From 2000 to 2008, Moody owned his own ranch in South Africa, where he ran his hunting operations on 50,000 acres of exclusive properties. He sold his ranch in 2008 in order to expand operations throughout South Africa. Moody and his team continue to provide unique experiences for clients. They specialize in hunting Cape buffalo and have successfully hunted nearly 400 buffalo, routinely bagging around 30 each season. The company also offers non-hunting photo/eco tours.
Gary Nault has been a fishing guide on the waters of Green Bay since 1987. He is president of the Sturgeon Bay Sport Fishing Association and chairman of the Sturgeon Bay Harbor Commission. Nault also is the founder and director of the Sturgeon Bay Bass Tournament. In addition, he is founder and director of t he longest-running kids’ fishing event in Wisconsin – held every Father’s Day for the past 37 years.
Mike Norris is a fully licensed fishing guide on Big Green Lake and nearby surrounding lakes in south central Wisconsin. He specializes in catching trophy smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish during each of their seasonal peaks. Norris has been featured in national and regional fishing publications and is frequently heard on the “Mike Jackson Outdoors” radio show on WNDZ-AM 750. In addition, his weekly fishing reports appear in the “Midwest Fishing Report” by Dale Bowman with the Chicago Sun-Times.
Bill Schultz lives in New Berlin and Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and is a contributing writer for several magazines and websites. Since catching his first smallmouth bass in 1994, he has caught and released 27,000. His focus has been on the big waters of Green Bay in and around Sturgeon Bay, along with rivers and streams throughout Wisconsin. Schultz’s talks at sports shows and fishing events have turned thousands on to the opportunities and excitement of fishing for smallmouth bass on lakes and rivers.
Dale Stroschein is a National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Angler (Inducted March 2014). Prior to becoming a full-time charter captain, Stroschein toured the country with PWT, MWC and NAWA fishing tournaments for 12 years, qualifying for the PWT National Championship every year. Those years helped him build a foundation in the fishing industry that helped him become a successful full-time guide. Educating anglers, no matter their skill level, is his passion. Stroschein is the owner/manager at his family’s resort, Sand Bay Beach Resort, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
Loren Voss, known as the Wisconsin Turkey Commander, has 50 years of turkey-hunting experience using gun, bow and crossbow. He makes wingbone calls and uses harvested turkey pelts to enhance his decoys. During the 2011 spring season, Voss bagged all three types of turkeys in three days – a jake, a tom and a bearded hen. In 2014, he bagged two tom turkeys with one shot. In 2016, he twice got two birds with one shot for a double double. He followed that in 2020 with a double and a triple – getting two birds with one shot and three birds with another shot. Voss has appeared on the Outdoor Wisconsin and Around the Corner television shows and has written several articles for Wisconsin Outdoor News, Badger Sportsman and SCI magazines.
